Cameron hails from Co. Wicklow originally where he was an avid hillwalker for years.
He joined the team in 2015 when he moved west.
As the team’s Gentle Giant, he brings years of experience in the outdoors working for the National Parks and Wildlife Service in different areas of the country. He is now settled in North Mayo with his family.
He joined the team because he wanted to put his skills and experience to use as a volunteer, helping to assist people on Mayo’s mountains. Along with Irene O Brien, another NPWS employee and District Conservation Officer in Ballycroy National Park, the Mayo team is lucky to have people like Cameron and Irene, who are the true custodians of our environment and biodiversity in our stunning county.
He has been known to arrive for a call-out on his big motor bike but on the hill, the cool leathers have to left behind. Maybe some day he will try to creak up the Reek in leather trousers?
